Linkjuice

What is linkjuice?

Linkjuice is a term used in SEO to describe the value or power that a link passes on from one Web page to another. When a page on your Web site receives a link from another Web site, that link transmits a certain amount of "power" or "value" to your page. This can help improve your page's ranking in search engines. Linkjuice is thus a kind of vote of confidence; the more quality links your page receives, the more value search engines assign to that page, which can improve your ranking in search results.

However, not all links are equal. The amount of linkjuice a link passes on depends on several factors. For example, a link from a highly reputable website, such as a major news site, usually has more value than a link from a small, unknown blog. The number of links on a page also plays a role: the more links there are on a page, the less linkjuice each individual link passes on. This is because the value is distributed across all those links. In addition, internal links, that is, links between different pages within the same Web site, are also important. Not only do they help navigate your site, but they also transfer linkjuice, which can contribute to the SEO value of your website.

In practice, linkjuice is maximized by carefully handling both internal links and backlinks (links from other websites to your site). Linkjuice plays an important role in improving both the page authority (PA) and domain authority (DA) of your website. Page authority refers to the value and relevance of a specific page, while domain authority measures the overall strength and reliability of your entire website. By strategically placing internal links, you can pass linkjuice to important pages, increasing their page authority. This contributes to better search engine rankings. At the same time, quality backlinks increase domain authority, which helps make your entire website stronger in the eyes of search engines. The result is more organic traffic and improved visibility online. By properly managing both your internal links and external backlinks, you ensure that linkjuice contributes optimally to the growth of both your page and domain authority.
