What is on-page SEO?

On-page SEO is a way of setting up your Web site so that it is better found by search engines such as Google. It involves all the optimizations you can do on your own website to ensure that search engines understand what your pages are about and rank them high in search results. On-page SEO focuses on the content and structure of your website, such as the text, titles, images, and the way the pages are interconnected.

An important part of on-page SEO is using the right keywords. These are the words or phrases you think people will use when they search for what you offer. By strategically incorporating these keywords into your text, titles, and meta-descriptions, you help search engines understand what your page is about. It is also important that your content be relevant and of high quality. Search engines want to provide their users with the best and most useful information, so if your pages provide good answers to the questions people have, you have a greater chance of ranking high in search results.

In addition to content, the technical side of your website is also a crucial part of on-page SEO. This includes, for example, using header tags (such as H1, H2) to make the structure of your page clear, optimizing images by giving them a descriptive name and alt text, and making sure your website loads quickly. All these factors help search engines better understand your site and give visitors a better user experience.

On-page SEO works in conjunction with off-page SEO, which focuses on factors outside your Web site, such as getting backlinks from other Web sites. While on-page SEO provides a strong foundation on your website, off-page factors strengthen your online reputation. Together, they help you rank higher in search results and attract more organic traffic to your site.
