Want to know the reason why so few people read your blogs?

The fact that you are on this page probably means that you write blogs regularly, with much or perhaps less love. However, you are not getting what you hoped for in return, which is response in response to your blogs. It seems that few people are reading your blogs. You are curious what you can do so that that stream of enthusiastic readers grows.

It all starts with love

First of all, are you not putting enough "love" into it? Then change that! If you want your blogs to be read, you have to put the necessary effort into them. If writing blogs is not really your thing, you can of course outsource it. I know someone else ;).

However, is blogging on your mind? Then chances are your titles are the culprit. Therefore, here are some tips for catchy titles. You'll see that interaction with your target audience will follow naturally as long as you know how to trigger them. Of course, there may be other reasons than boring titles why your blogs don't get read, but I'll save those reasons for another time.

1. Pressing question

Check out the title of this blog! Does anything catch your eye?
I chose to formulate the title of this blog in the question form. Personally, I find this one of the most difficult titles to formulate. You don't want to ask a question that people don't necessarily want an answer to and therefore don't read on. So ask a question that goes directly to the heart of your readers' problem and that you are pretty sure they want the answer to.
You may have noticed something else about the title of this blog as well. By addressing you personally, I hope you will be triggered even faster to read the blog further.

2. Lists, we love them

They give us footing, are predictable and make it easy for us to remember things. So capitalize on this penchant for lists and use them in your blog titles. They may be cliché, but they work. Research has shown that titles with a number (i.e.: 11 ways to... instead of Eleven ways to...) are more likely to catch the eye and people are more likely to click and read on. Another interesting fact about numbers in titles: preferably use odd numbers. In fact, our brain seems to be more convinced by lists with odd numbers than lists with even numbers. So take advantage of it!

3. Appeal to an "authority.

Can you invoke a particular authority or well-known person in the title of your blog? Then make use of it. If it has been researched then you can't ignore it or if Kim Kardashian does it, it must be successful, right? 😉

Below are two examples:

    • University X research shows why a 6-hour workday is more productive
    • 3 golden rules from Kim Kardashian for that perfect Instagram feed

4. Promise makes debt

Put an attractive promise in your title. You will see that your blogs will be read a lot more if there is something to get out of them. Make sure there is something to actually get out of your blog.

By the way, the second example includes another trick. Do you know what it is?

5. Social proof is the best proof

Nowadays, social proof is indispensable on your site. Think of texts like X satisfied customers went before you or People who bought product X also found this product interesting. We like to be convinced by others. Take a look at the example below.
